The Role and Your Mission:
In order to strengthen our Financial Team in Bucharest, we are looking for a Senior Accountant on a 2-year fixed-term basis to cover Maternity Leave, with the potential of being extended.
As a Senior Accountant, you will ensure accuracy of transactions posted in the ledger, being involved in month-end close related activities, statutory fiscal declarations, reporting to the National Bank and Statistical Office and ensuring the reporting deadlines are met.
We will count on you to:
- Assist and report to the Chief Accountant on the daily operations, processes and reporting activities.
- Preparation of local tax returns including VAT (D300, D390, D394) and withholding tax.
- Support the preparation of the semi-annual and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with Romanian Accounting Standards.
- Prepare/review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations in accurate manner.
- Monitor transactions posted by offshore team and guide them if needed
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, carrier agreements, tax regulations, Romanian GAAP and US GAAP regarding financial matters.
- Ensure the accuracy of the transactions related to month-end close and ensure all the reporting deadlines required by the Company are met.
- Liaise with the internal accounting company, the external company’s consultants, and auditors.
- Ensure any ad-hoc reporting that might be required is delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support year-end process (audit, statutory accounts).
- Support other function colleagues in accounting matters.
- Our hybrid model allows to work 2 days remotely and 3 days from our Bucharest office.
What You Need to Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting and Economics
- At least 5 years of experience on independent position in a Finance/Accounting department focusing on Romanian statutory reporting
- General ledger accounting experience.
- Computer proficient, very good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English.
