Our priority is to make sure we hire shop labourers that care about the safety of our drivers and the service provided to the community. As a General Labourer in our shop, the minimum responsibilities are:
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and truck bays, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Assist mechanics as needed with shop operations, including retrieving and moving trucks and equipment in our yard
Monitor and replenish shop supplies such as grease, oil, filters, and cleaning materials.
Support road call responses by preparing tools and parts or assisting with minor on-site maintenance tasks.
Communicate professionally and courteously with drivers and other team members
Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations as outlined by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment, and Waste Connections of Canada.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance manager or lead technician.
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks or heavy equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and basic inspections.
Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems, including diagnostic and maintenance software
Valid Class G driver’s license
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
