Civeo Premium Services Employees LP is recruiting for the skilled and result driven Labourer to work in our well-equipped facility in Acheson, AB. Reporting to the designated Supervisor, the incumbent will work with transportable industrial accommodations and other types of factory built, modular structures. Laborer will operate machinery, equipment, provide material handling services and assist other building trades. Applicable building codes must be followed focusing on safety, quality and accuracy of work while being adaptable to changing roles within the function. The work schedule is 5 days on and 2 days off, Monday to Friday. If required, you may be asked to travel occasionally to the remote job sites within Western Canada and stay in camps. This is a permanent, full-time, hourly position.
Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload construction materials, including moving materials to work location
- Operate loading equipment and machinery, such as skid steer, wheeled loader, forklift, etc.
- Set up and safely operate woodworking equipment
- Assist with framing of floors, walls, roofs, conduct exterior and interior finishing
- Assist with fitting and installation of doors, windows, flooring, cabinets, stairs, handrails, paneling, molding and ceiling tiles
- Trim and sand joints, molding or other wooden parts to be assembled using hand and power tools
- Assist with assembly of wood and metal products such as metal siding, window sashes, doors, doorjambs, boxes, and pallets using screws, bolts, staples, glue or other fasteners
- Paint as directed by site Foreman
- Conduct daily inspection of machinery if necessary
- Assist tradespersons such as Carpenters and other trades in construction activities
- Assist in demolishing buildings using tools. Sort, clean and pile salvaged materials
- Clean finished units
- Perform site cleaning, snow removal and landscaping projects
- Provide general site cleanup as directed by the site Foreman
- Follow all company, job and client-specific safety protocols and OH&S legislation.
Qualifications
- Completion of high school is required
- Minimum 2 years of directly related laborer experience in residential, commercial and light industrial construction and renovation
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean 5-year driving abstract
- Specialized knowledge, experience and current tickets for operation of equipment, such as skid steer, wheeled loader and forklift is an asset
- Fall Protection (OSSA), Confined Space/Monitoring (OSSA), Elevated Work Platform, CSTS and Standard First Aid with CPR are assets
- Ability to work physically and regularly lift up to 50 lb.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
- Attention to details, accuracy and strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to multi-task and effectively manage time to meet required project deadlines
- Ability to interact co-operatively and professionally with customers and co-workers
