Job Title: General Labourer
Job Summary
The General Labourer position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks that support the Lean, 5S and Continuous Improvement programs. This position may be assigned to a particular production area and accountable for cleaning work areas and equipment and perform other tasks as needed.
Responsibility
- Support, Foster, Promote and Demonstrate Linamar’s Core Values and Leadership Behaviors.
- Maintain balance between customer, employee and financial satisfaction by maximizing facility/department. Performance Indicators to align to Linamar’s Stepping Stool of Success Strategy.
- Support and maintain department lean initiatives as set out in LPS system requirements.
- Maintenance of the 5S Program through painting lines within the plant as needed.
- Assist with janitorial duties when janitors are absent from work.
- Perform maintenance tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor or designate.
- Small fabrication tasks, assist with general building maintenance.
- Ability to solve issues as they arise, and work with team to solve day to day issues
Academic/Educational Requirements
- Completion of secondary school or equivalent.
- Able to use and safely operate a variety hand and power tools.
Desired Characteristics
- Able to communicate with co-workers to exchange information about tasks and to coordinate work.
- Ability to work mainly independently and in team to carry out tasks which require cooperation, such as lifting heavy objects.
- Learn continuously on the job through workplace training.
