Join us as a General Engineer in our Timaru based workshop!  

We are looking for a highly motivated General Engineer to join our Timaru team. As a General Engineer, you will produce parts or tools, fit and assemble them as needed and complete any other fitting/welding works set by your manager.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Complete various project works/new equipment builds (including in-house design)
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance of equipment
  • Provide support to on-site crews and their equipment (including fabrication, diagnostics and maintenance)

We’re looking for someone with:  

  • A NZQA qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Fitting & Machining) 
  • Full Class 1 licence (Class 2 is advantageous)
  • Competent in reading & interpreting engineering drawings
  • Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive approach to Health and Safety - it’s our #1 priority
  • Good Interpersonal and communication skills
  • A positive can-do attitude, willingness to learn new skills and most importantly, a good sense of humour
