We are seeking a talented individual to join our Claims team at Marsh Papua New Guinea. This role will be based in Papua New Guinea.
As a General Claims Officer, you will support the efficient administration and progression of general insurance claims for Marsh clients. You will work with clients, insurers, loss adjusters and internal stakeholders to help ensure claims are notified, documented, monitored and progressed to resolution in a timely and professional manner.
We will count on you to:
- Receive, review and register new claims notifications in line with internal procedures and service standards
- Check claim submissions for completeness, accuracy and required supporting documentation before lodgement
- Lodge claims with insurers and other relevant parties within required timeframes and maintain evidence of submission
- Maintain accurate claims records, correspondence, file notes and status updates
- Monitor diary actions and outstanding items to support timely follow-up and progression of open claims
- Liaise with clients, insurers, underwriters, loss adjusters, assessors, repairers, legal representatives and other service providers
- Prepare claims summaries, bordereaux, reports and review meeting packs as required
- Escalate complex, disputed, unusual or sensitive matters to the Head of Claims or other senior colleagues
What you need to have:
- Diploma or degree in Insurance, Business, Law, Finance or a related discipline, preferred
- Prior experience in insurance, claims, broking, underwriting, customer service or administrative support
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to use claims and administrative systems
- Sound problem-solving ability and judgement
