Job Description:
This job is responsible for moderately complex activities supporting the assignment, sourcing, gathering, furnishing and movement of financial and client information and data. Key responsibilities include fund setup, client identification data, pricing, and cost basis reporting. A Job expectations include providing quality service and effective operations support for internal business partners and external clients.

Line of Business Job Description:

Legal Order operations is an area with significant legal and reputational risk that processes third party civil legal matters relating to levies, garnishments, temporary restraining notices, as well as subpoenas served on the bank for civil matters directed to Merrill and BANA when there is a Private Bank relationship.

Responsibilities:

  • Processes third party subpoenas served on the bank for civil matters
  • Act as a liaison to prepare witness for depositions
  • Restrict client accounts due to Attachments received
  • Review complex legal documents and log key information for bank records responsive to the subpoena.
  • Review of documents includes ability to apply state and federal laws to maintain compliance with proper service, customer notification requirements
  • Role requires ability to navigate dozens of systems to research and acquire responsive documents
  • Interaction with state and government agencies, and attorneys to negotiate scope, court appearances, and reasonable due dates for delivery.
  • Advanced organizational skills to maintain a large caseload with multiple moving parts.

  • Demonstrated ability to research, identify, and retrieve responsive documents across a variety of banking products, systems, and platforms.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor communications to diverse audiences, actively listen, and provide timely follow-up and status updates.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of delivering accurate and complete work product within required deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to leverage research, past experience, and available resources to develop effective solutions.
