Roles and Responsibilities
- Support new and existing technology testing, working with Design Engineering teams in the planning, design, development, instrumentation, and execution of engineering development and Root Cause Analysis testing of energy products including gas turbine / steam turbine/ generator components, wind turbine components, and accessories systems. This includes data reduction, analysis and processing of raw engineering test data including dynamic data both in real time and/or posttest.
- Support instrumentation selection and application, hardware modification, and test setup and execution to validate engineering models. Author technical documentation to effectively manage implementation of test scheme with craft technicians.
- Develop knowledge of instrumentation to measure temperature, pressure, flow, strain, vibration etc, digital signal processing and data acquisition systems to support all CDT Test Programs.
- Lead Control system development and diagnostic projects, including projects in configuring and tuning PID controllers and advanced control loops. Lead troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of control system malfunctions, integrating data from existing systems and trend analysis to resolve issues efficiently.
- Utilize communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, PROFIBUS, HART, OPC DA/UA. Set up and maintain network connectivity and security for remote data monitoring and transmit engineering test data from remote locations to CDT Data Center for permanent archiving.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, P&IDs, and wiring diagrams.
- Project Management – including Cost Estimate, Cost Tracking, Schedule creation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited university or college
- Previous internship or other experience (academic) with lab testing and data acquisition.
- 0–1-year engineering experience
Eligibility Requirements:
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Vernova Greenville, SC plant, or field sites (relocation assistance is available)
- Unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States of America is required. We will not provide sponsorship for this role now or in the future.
- Ability and willingness to travel 10%-15% both domestic and international.

Desired Characteristics
- Experience in measurement technology development including mechanical design analysis of the hardware.
- Experience utilizing engineering software for design development, including 3D modeling (such as AutoCAD, NX/UG, or similar)
- Experience with programming languages including python, C/C++ and their uses in data acquisition and data analysis
- Strong interest/knowledge around measurement technology & metrology
- Good communication and negotiation capabilities, able to interface effectively with other global organizations and external customers

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $72,000.00 and $108,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
