Position: GCP Cloud Architect

This job posting is for an existing, active vacancy and we are looking to hire a GCP Cloud Architect to lead solution architecting and manage the migration of on-premises and Azure workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Summary:
We are looking for an experienced GCP Cloud Architect to lead solution architecting and manage the migration of on-premises and Azure workloads to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have a strong development background and must have transitioned into solution architecting roles, demonstrating hands-on expertise in designing cloud-native architectures and executing end-to-end migration strategies.
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Design robust, scalable, and secure GCP architectures tailored to business requirements.
- Lead the migration of applications, databases, and workloads from on-premises and Azure environments to GCP.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure seamless migration and integration.
- Conduct solution assessments, identify gaps, and recommend best practices for cloud adoption.
- Develop automation scripts, migration plans, and proof-of-concept solutions as required with expertise in Python, Terraform, and PowerShell.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams throughout the migration lifecycle.
- Document solution architectures, migration approaches, and operational processes.
Qualifications & Skills :
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect, with a strong background in software/application development.
- Hands-on expertise with GCP services (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, VPC, IAM, BigQuery, etc.).
- Extensive experience in migrating workloads from on-premises and Azure to GCP.
- Strong knowledge of cloud architecture patterns, security, and automation tools (Terraform, Deployment Manager, etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, GKE).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
- Relevant GCP certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect) preferred.
- Ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Experience working in Agile environments within global teams.
The pay range for this role is CAD 145,000 - CAD 155,000 per annum including any bonuses or variable pay.
