Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager – Workplace Safety, Health and Environment (WSHE) safeguards the health and safety of personnel and protect the environment across critical Gateway facility operations. This role owns the WSHE management system and supports the global facilities team in implementing safety standards, conducting hazard and risk assessments, investigating incidents, and driving a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Managing the WSHE management system
- Maintain and administer the WSHE management system aligned to ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety) and ISO 14001 (environmental management).
- Manage the incident, near-miss, and hazard reporting system, ensuring timely capture, triage, and closure of reports.
- Maintain the hazard register, risk assessments, and the register of legal and regulatory compliance obligations.
- Contribute to the development of WSHE training materials and knowledge databases.
- Compile and distribute safety standards, materials and instructions across the Gateways.
- Manage the minimum PPE and tools list and requirements for Gateways
- WSHE training and competency
- Develop, schedule, and deliver safety training, including electrical safety (NFPA 70E), lockout/tagout, arc flash awareness, working at height, confined-space entry, and on other WSHE topics.
- Maintain the training matrix and competency records for on-site and on-call staff.
- Provide ad-hoc training and toolbox talks in support of operational and project activities.
- WSHE support
- Provide WSHE guidance and support to other facilities team members across all Gateway sites.
- Review Methods of Procedure (MOPs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and permit-to-work documentation, including work on critical equipment and event support.
- Maintain and update WSHE and environmental documentation libraries.
- Be the main contact for the WSHE contractors.
- Incident investigation and corrective action
- Lead incident and near-miss investigations, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and produce Corrective Action (CA) documentation for safety, health, and environmental events.
- Assign and review investigation and corrective-action tasks across the team and track them to closure.
- WSHE compliance and assurance
- Develop, implement, and maintain WSHE inspection and assurance programs for facilities systems and work activities.
- Coordinate safety inspections, audits, and regulatory compliance verification, including arc flash labeling compliance under NEC 110.16 and NFPA 70E.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for safety and environmental performance across Gateways.
- Report on and manage WSHE audit compliance and corrective-action status to leadership.
- Emergency response and preparedness
- Take ownership of facilities emergency response and emergency preparedness procedures, including planning, drills, and after-action review.
- WSHE procedures
- Take ownership of the WSHE procedures, including the global HSE Plan and the Electrical Safety Procedure.
- Supporting role with projects
- Perform design and submittal review for new and existing Gateway locations from a safety and environmental perspective, including life-safety, egress, and arc flash provisions, for 24/7 operational strict SLA requirements.
- Work directly with consulting engineering, construction, and third-party vendors to embed WSHE requirements in capital projects and maintenance.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to promote safety and environmental standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.
- Participate in commissioning, acceptance testing, and site readiness validation for new builds and upgrades, verifying safety and environmental readiness.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead WSHE audits, including on-site visits; produce reports outlining risks with recommended mitigations and remediations.

Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science/Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related engineering/technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of relevant qualifications and experience may substitute for the degree.
- 5+ years in WSHE/EHS roles within critical facilities, data centers, telecom/teleport, utilities, or comparable industrial 24/7 operations.
- Demonstrated experience administering or maintaining a safety management system (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 framework).
- Incident investigation and Root Cause Analysis / Corrective Action experience.
- Electrical safety program experience — NFPA 70E, arc flash, lockout/tagout.
- Contractor and construction safety management.

- Willingness and ability to work after regularly scheduled hours as needed
