This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in turbine performance, thermodynamics, process engineering, and gas composition analysis while working alongside experienced engineers. As an Engineer - Gas Turbine Performance and Operability, you will support the analysis and optimization of gas turbine and combined cycle power plant performance. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will develop expertise in thermodynamics, combustion, and engineering simulation tools while contributing to real customer projects. The role offers structured on-the-job training and a clear development path toward independently managing technical analyses and client-facing activities.

As a Gas Turbine Performance and Operability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

 

  • Participating in the full product development and execution processes starting from early project stages supporting feasibility activities to position Gas Turbine products and solutions including Combine Cycle

  • Driving units and/or system level functional performance to deliver customer solutions

  • Calculating and reporting performance with respect to the guaranteed values in accordance with industry codes and standards

  • Preparing the fuel burnability feasibility studies

  • Participating in the design, development, and enhancement of technologies in the areas of performance, operability, and combustion

  • Leading analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods

  • Communicating across direct organization and presents to leader in specific technical space and on cross functional teams

 

To be successful in this role you will bring at least part of the following:

 

  • Have a degree in Power engineering or Chemical and Process engineering or equivalent

  • Have a deep knowledge of Gas Turbine thermodynamics and fuel combustion

  • Have a basic knowledge of Steam Turbine and Combined Cycle thermodynamics

  • Be able to analyze different scenarios relevant to steady state and transient performance

  • Have a basic knowledge of gas turbine and power plant simulators: NPSS, GTP, Gate Cycle, Ebsylon, Isaac as well as process and dynamic systems simulators: HYSYS, Chemkin, Simulink

  • Have a basic knowledge of programing languages and statistical/data analysis in engineering applications: MATLAB, C++, VBA, MINITAB

  • Be able to support Business during both Bid and Requisition process

  • Have good oral and written communication skills in English and experience in international environment

The initial pay range for this position will be PLN 106,400 To 146,300. There are no provisions of any collective agreement relating to pay which will be applied to this position

The Baker Hughes internal title for this role is: Engineer 2, Mechanical, Product Performance Engineering

Skills Required
