This position reports to the Manager of Gas Supply & Demand Forecasting in the Forecasting & Fundamentals (F&F) team with TC Energy’s Gas Pipelines business. The group is responsible for compiling research, providing information and critical analysis and developing natural gas forecasts for the organization. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with a team of technical SMEs in understanding and forecasting natural gas supply within North America.

What you’ll do

  • Monitor and Maintain Intelligence: Continuously observe and update data and intelligence related to emerging trends with producers in key natural gas supply basins, such as the Montney, Deep Basin, Appalachia and Permian.
  • Summarizing and Reporting: Compile and present the results of forecasts, scenarios, and observed market outcomes to support Commercial Strategy Development, Operations Planning, System Design, and regulatory applications.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research, analysis, and modeling of gas development in key geographic areas where TC Energy operates.
  • Client Interaction: Regularly interact with internal and external clients to communicate and disseminate forecasts and related data, including the development and delivery of presentations and management reports.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Perform assessments and evaluations of how gas demand, supply, and market forces impact pipeline competition and asset utilization.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or Geosciences is preferred, though other related disciplines may also be considered.
  • Six (6) or more years of industry-related experience, with prior experience in resource development or reservoir engineering being an asset.
  • An alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for a variety of parties.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientation, demonstrating a high level of collaboration, initiative, and motivation.
  • Proficiency with standard office desktop tools, with a strong emphasis on PowerBI skills.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of gas industry activities and trends, and natural gas supply-demand dynamics.
  • Detail-oriented while also considering the larger macro environment.
  • Comfort with manipulating large volumes of data, while maintaining accuracy in analysis.
