This role serves as a key leadership position within the product management function as part of the Pivot to Value (P2V) Systems Architecture team, playing a critical role in the broader Gas Power initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity. As a Systems Architect, you will translate functional requirements from stakeholders, such as engineering, supply chain, and suppliers, into configurable modules and systems with clearly defined interface controls and designs. Your role will involve evaluating configurability across plant/product modules, identifying means of harmonizing or standardizing modules as needed to improve quality, delivery, and cost. The outcome of the evaluations will impact business decisions that optimize the overall value of our solutions while addressing market and customer demands. You will lead the strategic decision-making process regarding make/buy, do/buy, and re-use strategies at the system/module level, determining Gas Power’s involvement in system/module fulfillment. Collaboration with horizontal functional partners is essential to ensure optimal and effective decision-making.
The Systems Architect – Services role will focus on identifying and driving implementation of variable P2V initiatives within the services organizations across ITR cycle, driving value to internal and external customers through the lifecycle of our products focusing on services specifically.

Job Description

What you will do

  • Plan, prepare, and manage productivity initiatives from beginning to end by reviewing project requirements, setting up project resources, developing and executing against cost estimates, establishing project risk analysis and mitigation strategies, and owning performance relative to fulfillment and long-term sustainability. 
  • Serve as P2V interface with global services organization and functional teams, communicating with services productivity team, regional P&Ls, services engineering and other functional teams across Gas Power that contributes to services planning and fulfilment. 
  • Develop fulfilment strategies in collaboration with Materials Management team to optimize warehousing and the need to stock parts
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and/or improve field processes and methods for improved safety, quality, delivery, and cost.  
  • Analyze large data sets across multiple sources and utilize the same to generate new insights and ideas to execute 
  • Translates Product and Stakeholder functional requirements into module/ system requirements that are clear, unambiguous and generate customer value...focusing on configurability at the modular level
  • Define make/buy, do/buy, re-use strategy per module/system, assess supplier panel in the market, ensure supply contracts and specifications are structured and optimized to meet the module/system requirements that include fulfillment strategy, quality, cost, and lead-time
  • Specify, manage and document interface definitions and control between modules/systems to achieve lowest installed and/or lifecycle cost and allows each design and fulfilment team (internal and external partner(s)) to work independently and integrate work 

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 8 years engineering experience or like technical/operating discipline 
  • 2-4 years field experience related to power plant industry or 2-4 years experience in CPM/CSL roles, or 2-4 years experience in materials/inventory management
  • Prior academic or work in systems engineering

  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on critical systems thinking, root cause analysis, and business case development and analysis.
  • Understanding of customer needs, project requirements, and the competitive landscape to integrate best practices and improvement opportunities.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
