Position Type: Full-time
Location: Philippines (Remote)
Schedule: PST
About the CompanyOur client is a fast-growing creative studio building an always-on editorial team. They produce short-form social content and vertical episodic drama at volume for top-tier clients, including a premium apparel brand and an entertainment platform aiming to become the "Netflix of gaming." Operating with a philosophy of "thoughtful output," our client balances high-volume production with a deep care for every single piece of content created.
About the RoleWe are seeking a Gaming Video Editor (Narrative & Short-Form) to serve as the narrative engine of a specialized offshore production pod. Reporting directly to the Directors of Editorial, this role is dedicated to cutting episodic, serial short-form micro-dramas shot in-engine (Roblox, Fortnite, GTA, Minecraft). The ideal candidate combines deep gaming culture literacy with sharp narrative storytelling instincts to hold audience attention across serialized episodes.
ResponsibilitiesEdit 60-to-90-second vertical, serial micro-drama episodes from raw in-engine gameplay and creator footage.
Manage end-to-end story edits, sound design, color grading, and on-screen graphics for episodic drops.
Pace episodes to maximize viewer retention, focusing heavily on cold opens, narrative turns, and cliffhangers.
Maintain strict process discipline: accurately name assets to project taxonomy, tag, file, and deliver cuts with concise notes.
Work efficiently across defined effort tiers, knowing when an edit needs a 1-hour story polish versus a quick trim.
Flexibly cover social, hype, or brand editing tasks for pod teammates during heavy production weeks.
Must-Have
Gaming Literacy: Active player/enthusiast in gaming culture, specifically Roblox, Fortnite, GTA, and Minecraft. Intuitively understands community tropes, "flex" moments, and platform nuances.
Narrative & Story Instinct: Proven experience cutting serialized short-form drama, vertical narrative formats (e.g., ReelShort, DramaBox formats), or story-driven gaming content.
Pacing & Sound Design: Strong instinct for music choice, audio leveling, and cut timing that builds narrative tension without relying on generic stock audio.
Technical Proficiency: Fluent in Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve (learning on the job is not permitted).
Language & Communication: Strong written English skills to give and receive feedback clearly without translation layers.
Hardware Setup: Must own a machine capable of 4K multicam editing (Apple Silicon M2+ or PC with dedicated GPU and 16GB+ RAM), dual displays (at least one 1440p), fiber internet (25Mbps+ upload) with a backup line, a UPS, and professional mixing headphones/monitors.
Nice-to-Have
Motion graphics skills in After Effects (titles, lower thirds, callouts).
Color grading experience (applying LUTs and maintaining visual consistency across an episode).
Familiarity with AI-assisted editing tools (transcription, selects, automated caption generation, upscaling).
Prior experience cutting directly for popular gaming creators or gaming channels.
Key Qualities
Self-Starter: Takes initiative from the queue without waiting for individual task assignments.
End-to-End Owner: Owns the cut from raw footage through to correctly tagged, filed, and annotated delivery.
Tasteful & Receptive: Strong personal taste and creative opinion, but accepts directional changes from leadership without ego.
Proactive Communicator: Flags unusable footage, unclear briefs, or schedule risks on day one.
Low Drama, High Output: Calm, dependable, and focused on maintaining high standards at scale.
