Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced professional from the gaming industry or igaming industry who sees themselves as a Game Mathematician or Game Math Designer with some programming experience.
In this role you will play a crucial role in imagining, concepting and creating game prototypes by combining mathematical modelling and programming. This individual has experience working on games which have successfully launched and has a genuine and active interest in gaming (board games, computer games, card games, role playing ect.).
Responsibilities:
- Help drive the creative process in game concepting from a mathematics and game design perspective alongside game teams and Product Owners
- Improve the team’s creative processes in game concepting
- Learn new technologies and develop your skills while helping us achieve our goal of providing the best games on the market.
- Work closely together with our Product Owners and Game Teams to build games.
- Implement algorithms for solving statistical and combinatorial problems.
- Implement game logic.
- Investigate techniques, such as various optimization methods, to solve old challenges in new ways.
Who are you?
We're looking for a team player with an innovative personality and a passion for learning new things. You are creative and see yourself as a Designer. You hold a natural talent for understanding and solving abstract and complex problems and have a good eye for detail. It is important that you have an interest in understanding how different math models relate to and translate into player behaviour and what appeals to the end user. We think you should have an active interest in gaming.
Skills & Experience:
- Gaming industry experience as a designer or equivalent, having worked on recognizable titles
- University degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or equivalent
- Proficient in a programming language and a good understanding of programming paradigms - such as OOP and functional programming.
- Java programming experience is a strong plus.
- Strong mathematical intuition.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Team player with an innovative personality
- Talent for understanding and solving abstract and complex problems
- Detail-oriented
- Open to receiving feedback and iterating on your work as a result.
