This is an onsite position based at our studio in Santa Monica, CA.
What you will do:
- Coordinate, implement, and own polished gameplay scenarios, in-game cinematics, and AI behaviors
- Collaborate with the Design team to conceptualize, prototype, implement, tune, and balance gameplay mechanics and systems
- Communicate with animation, programming, and art departments to effectively produce the assets and code support required for systems or set-ups
- Develop new enemy types, which includes rapid prototyping, developing the AI behavior tree, implementing melee and ranged attacks, tuning stealth perception, and other custom skills as needed
- Work with the team to make the enemies feel fun, and work with level design to create compelling combat encounters
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed
What skills you will use:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interactive Technology/Digital Game Development, Computer Graphic Art, or a related field
- Two (2) years of experience as a Gameplay Engineer, Technical Game Designer, or in a related occupation
- Experience must include the following –
- Experience with C++, C#, Lua, or other scripting language –
- Significant programming and 3D Math skills
- Experience with 3D level editors
- Deep understanding of narrative principles, and conveying emotion through gameplay
