JD- About the Role
We're hiring a Senior Power BI Developer & Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to own and evolve our enterprise financial data platform. You'll take over a Fabric-based FP&A reporting ecosystem that integrates Finance, Payroll, and CRM data into a single source of truth, and continue the shift from manual, spreadsheet-based reporting to automated, near-real-time self-service analytics for Finance Business Partners and senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and administer the Microsoft Fabric platform (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2) supporting FP&A and operational analytics.
- Architect ETL/ELT pipelines integrating ERP (e.g., Sage Intacct), HR/payroll (e.g., Cezanne HR), and CRM (e.g., HubSpot) systems via REST APIs, CData connectors, and On-Premises Data Gateway.
- Manage automated, multi-daily data refreshes with monitoring, alerting, and Teams-based notifications.
- Build enterprise semantic models with RLS, standardized KPIs, and Time Intelligence calculations.
- Develop self-service Power BI dashboards for Revenue, GP, COS, forecasting, budget vs. actuals, and WoW/YoY variance.
- Partner with Finance Business Partners to automate forecast submissions (incl. VBA-enabled Excel) and streamline month-end close.
- Ensure data governance, quality, and reconciliation across financial reporting, including GL and Trial Balance.
- Optimize SQL, data models, and reports for performance at scale.
- Provide training and support to drive self-service BI adoption.

- Core BI Tools- Power BI (advanced), DAX, Power Query (M), Semantic Modeling, RLS
- Data Platform- Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2, Data Factory, Medallion Architecture)
- Database & SQL- Advanced SQL (CTEs, joins, window functions), query optimization, Snowflake
- Data Engineering- ETL/ELT design, dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schema, REST API integration
- Automation, Alteryx, Advanced Excel & VBA, Power Query automation
- Programming- Python (Pandas, NumPy), Jupyter (preferred)
- Domain Knowledge- FP&A reporting, financial statements (GL, Trial Balance), KPI reporting, budget vs. actuals
- Soft Skills- Stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration (Agile/Scrum), end-user training
Preferred Qualifications-
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) — required or in progress.
- Power BI certification (e.g., PL-300 or equivalent); Alteryx certification a plus.
- Experience integrating finance/accounting (Sage Intacct, NetSuite), HRIS/payroll, and CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce) systems.
- Media, e-commerce, or professional services background a plus.
- Exposure to Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Fivetran, or similar ingestion tools a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, IT, or related field.
Success Metrics - Reduce manual month-end reporting cycles through automation (benchmark: 70% reduction previously achieved).
- Maintain reliable, low-downtime automated data pipelines.
- Increase self-service Power BI adoption among Finance and business stakeholders.
- Sustain strong data governance and reconciliation standards.
Skills Required
- Advanced Power BI development, DAX, Power Query M, semantic modeling, and row-level security
- Microsoft Fabric experience including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflow Gen2, Data Factory, and Medallion Architecture
- Advanced SQL, including CTEs, joins, window functions, and query optimization
- Snowflake experience
- ETL/ELT design, dimensional modeling, star schemas, and snowflake schemas
- REST API integration
- Automation, Alteryx, advanced Excel and VBA, and Power Query automation
- Python with Pandas and NumPy
- FP&A reporting and knowledge of financial statements, GL, Trial Balance, KPIs, and budget-versus-actuals reporting
- Stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration, Agile/Scrum, and end-user training
- Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate DP-700 certification, required or in progress
