Graduate Assistant – Athletics (Sport Programs)

Reports To: Assigned Head Coach and/or Athletics Administrator
Position Summary
East Texas A&M University Athletics is seeking qualified Graduate Assistants to support the daily operations of NCAA Division I sport programs. Graduate Assistants will assist coaches and athletics administrators with the administrative, operational, and organizational functions of an assigned sport while gaining valuable experience in collegiate athletics. Responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the assigned program and may include team operations, student-athlete support, event preparation, travel coordination, recruiting support, equipment management, and other administrative duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operations of an assigned sport program.
- Provide administrative support to coaching staff and athletics administrators.
- Assist with practice and game day preparation.
- Coordinate team travel logistics and itineraries as assigned.
- Assist with recruiting operations in accordance with NCAA, conference, and university regulations.
- Support the organization and maintenance of team equipment, apparel, and supplies.
- Assist with scheduling, calendars, meetings, and team communications.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and other administrative documents.
- Assist with home athletic contests, tournaments, camps, clinics, and special events.
- Support student-athlete programming and team activities.
- Maintain accurate records and confidential information.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, university, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Represent East Texas A&M University Athletics in a professional manner.
- Hourly Rate $13.33
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission into an East Texas A&M University graduate program.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a student-athlete, student worker, intern, graduate assistant, or coach within collegiate athletics.
- Experience with athletic operations, event management, recruiting support, or team administration.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

Graduate Assistants will gain comprehensive experience in NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics through direct involvement with sport program operations, team administration, event management, recruiting operations, student-athlete support, and departmental collaboration while preparing for professional careers in collegiate athletics.
