The FX Relationship manager is responsible for managing and expanding the FX client relationships in Japan and is part of a team of FX Relationship Managers. This position supports high levels of client satisfaction with BBH services and products.

Responsibilities:

Relationship Management:

  • Obtaining price quotes from FX Traders and accepting trade orders, on behalf of clients.
  • Building overall credibility and fostering trust with clients, FX team and stakeholders.
  • Communication with clients to ensure their understanding of market changes, product developments and new opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain appropriate contacts within client organizations and internal departments.
  • Track client activity and prepare market research, as needed.
  • Generate reports and performance trends on existing portfolio of client accounts.
  • Work in conjunction with internal FX management and Investor Services management to coordinate relationship management approach within FX and across regional business lines.
  • Responsible for retaining and growing the profitability of client relationships.
  • Management of the overall relationships with key clients ensuring their currency trading requirements and servicing needs are satisfied.

Business Development:

  • Engages in business development efforts to grow existing FX client relationships across the FX continuum, including Info FX and direct execution. 
  • Engages as a FX products and services subject matter expert to develop business with prospective clients, coordinating with Head of Markets Products Asia.
  • Provide tactical guidance, training and support to global FX sales staff and Investor Services RM/Sales for individual sales efforts and opportunities that involve FX. Partner with FX Trading on the pricing for new and prospective clients.
  • Implement BBH FX cross-sell culture and develop skill set with Investor Services teams in Japan to ensure prospects and demands are identified, and business development activities are effectively conducted. Focus on lead generation, product/insight delivery, and closing/implementation.
  • Works with Head of Markets Products Asia to align desk strategy and management with regional /overall strategies.

Client Service:

-   Partner with internal departments to ensure a consistently high level of client satisfaction with BBH services and products.

-   Serve as an escalation point for client service issues and deliverables.

-   Assist in the preparation of client presentations.

-   Assist in researching and resolving client inquiries and issues, in a timely manner.

-   Prepare and distribute reports and correspondence to clients, as needed.

Trade Processing and Administrative Tasks:

- Perform all necessary administrative tasks regarding client trade processing and execution.

-  Collaborate with the relevant Departments of BBH (including BBH FX Services Tokyo/Hong Kong/New York/London locations) to ensure sound client FX trade execution

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in finance or related discipline, or equivalent work experience required.

- Expectation of 5 years of relevant work experience.

- Experience working in the financial services industry.

-  Knowledge of BBH products, services and systems, a plus.

-  Strong relationship management and client service skills.

-  Strong interpersonal, negotiating and influencing skills.

-  Knowledge of international currency markets, including impact of economic and political factors preferred.

-  Knowledge of foreign exchange trading instruments preferred.

-  Knowledge of emerging trends in the industry.

-  Strong organization, research, and prioritization skills.

-  Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, while meeting deadlines.

-  Experience with Microsoft Office products.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Native level Japanese (written and verbal) is a MUST

- Business level English verbal and written communication is required
