The Foreign Exchange Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Foreign Exchange team. The FX Operations Analyst is charged with ensuring all relevant processing and maintenance functions are completed accurately, within prescribed timeframes, and in accordance with established departmental procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
- Confirm street-side trades and settlements via Swift, dealer proprietary platforms, or phone.
- Confirm financial and settlement details with bank customers via phone.
- Validate transactions and settlements within our FX system of record.
- Resolve trade detail discrepancies on trades executed through the FX sales and trading team with internal and/or external counterparties.
- Ensure all compliance requirements are addressed and documented (e.g., sanction screening).
- Identify and report all suspicious and/or fraudulent activity.
- Initiate cross-border payments in Swift.
- Initiate domestic payments to dealing counterparties within the bank’s domestic portal.
- Prepare manual journal entries.
- Facilitate foreign check clearing through bank external partners.
- Prepare reports for daily management review.
- Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers of the Foreign Exchange team.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and payment instructions.
- Onboard new customers into the FX System of Record.
- Process Banknote transactions.
- Support monthly reporting and deliverables.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must have a strong attention to detail.
- Must be able to effectively manage time, prioritize responsibilities, and adapt in a deadline-oriented environment.
- Must have strong organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have strong customer-service skills.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of spot, forward, swaps, options, and market practices.
- Working knowledge of Swift.
- Prior reconciliation experience required.
- Working understanding of foreign exchange markets.
- Clear verbal and written skills for coordinating with traders, clients, and compliance.
- Experience with payment processing, trade reconciliation, settlement, and due diligence.
- Attention to detail is critical for accuracy in high-value transactions.
Salary Range:
$52,433.00 - $86,137.25Individual base pay may vary on additional factors such as the candidate’s experience, job-related skills, relevant education, geographic location, and other specific business and organizational needs.
