- Act as the primary operational point of contact with OSE, JSCC and other Japan market infrastructure providers.
- Oversee and coordinate Japan futures clearing operational workflows performed by Hong Kong and Singapore teams, ensuring alignment with local exchange rules and regulatory expectations.
- Provide first line of defense oversight for the Japan futures business and collaborate closely with the Futures Clearing Risk Management team.
- Review Japan‑related risk exposures, margin processes, and escalation protocols, ensuring consistency with internal risk management frameworks.
- Manage Japan regulatory reporting requirements, coordinating closely with Compliance to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
- Oversee IT interactions related to Japan futures infrastructure, including ION and other relevant front‑to‑back systems, ensuring appropriate configuration and testing for OSE/JSCC activity.
- Lead communication and governance with Japan regulators, exchanges, auditors, and internal management.
- Support the build‑out of Japan futures operational frameworks, including process design, control establishment, documentation, and ongoing performance monitoring.
- Facilitate incident investigation and ensure corrective actions are implemented to avoid recurrence.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in futures operations, clearing, risk management, or exchange‑traded derivatives.
- Candidates with less experience may be considered for a more junior‑level role.
- Strong understanding of Japan futures markets, OSE/JSCC rules, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Experience with industry systems such as ION, risk monitoring tools, and other trade support / back‑office infrastructure is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, stakeholder‑management and problem‑solving skills; able to work independently while coordinating across regional teams.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written Japanese and English.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., JSDA qualifications) would be an advantage.
