At Valley Behavioral Health, the Fund Development and Grant Specialist advances the organization's mission by identifying, developing, and securing funding to support existing and future programs and initiatives. This role leads the full grants lifecycle—from prospect research and proposal writing to compliance reporting and donor relations—while partnering closely with leadership, program, finance, and marketing teams to align fundraising strategy with organizational priorities.

Pay: Range starts at $52,000 annually (pay is calculated based on years of related experience)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm | Hybrid Remote

  • Retirement Our 401(k) plan accepts both pre-tax and Roth (post-tax) contributions and includes a company match of up to 6% of your annual salary.

Essential Functions

  • Researches, identifies, and evaluates government, corporate, foundation, and private funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and strategic initiatives
  • Leads the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals, letters of inquiry, applications, progress reports, and supporting documentation in full compliance with funder guidelines
  • Manages the end-to-end grants process, including calendar maintenance, reporting schedules, compliance requirements, award tracking, and associated records and correspondence
  • Collaborates with leadership, program, finance, and marketing teams to gather data, outcomes, budgets, and materials required for grant applications, reporting, and donor stewardship
  • Supports fund development campaigns, fundraising initiatives, sponsorship efforts, and special projects through strategic planning, coordination, and compelling donor communications
  • Cultivates and sustains relationships with donors, grantors, sponsors, and community partners through consistent engagement, recognition, and proactive stewardship
  • Maintains accurate and current donor, prospect, and grant records within the organization’s CRM, including giving histories, proposal activity, reporting deadlines, and funding pipelines
  • Tracks fund development and grant revenue, analyzes fundraising metrics, and prepares actionable reports and recommendations that advance organizational goals
  • Partners with Marketing and Events teams to produce donor and funder communications—including impact reports, newsletters, social media content, and event collateral
  • Contributes to the development, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising strategies and donor engagement programs that strengthen long-term organizational growth
  • Represents the organization professionally in the community and cultivates strategic partnerships, volunteer opportunities, and community alliances that advance its mission

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.

Experience

  • One year of grant writing and development/fundraising experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous social services grant writing and fund development experience
