Job DescriptionOur Belfast office is a key strategic hub for Ocorian, home to 120 colleagues across Fund Services and Global Enablement teams. With around 30 accountants in Fund Accounting, we provide a clear career pathway from trainee level through to management, supported by a flexible hybrid working model (2 days in the office, 3 from home).
Purpose of the Role
You will be leading the delivery of high-quality fund accounting services across a portfolio of alternative investment structures; you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial reporting while acting as a trusted partner to clients, auditors and internal stakeholders.
Working as a senior member of the team, you will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability, driving operational excellence, developing team members and contributing to the ongoing growth and evolution of the business. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building client relationships, improving processes and making a measurable impact through the delivery of first-class accounting and reporting solutions.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and review of management accounts, interim and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery across a portfolio of funds.
- Oversee day-to-day fund accounting activities, including expenses, accruals, prepayments, VAT, loan interest calculations and investment and investor transactions.
- Act as a key point of contact for clients, auditors and advisers, managing relationships and coordinating reporting timetables to meet all contractual and regulatory deadlines.
- Develop a strong understanding of client structures, transactions and reporting requirements to deliver a proactive and value-added service.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory obligations, regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Review and approve client payments while maintaining robust risk management and governance standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality, operational efficiency and client outcomes.
- Support business development activities, including contributing to fee proposals and participating in prospective client meetings.
- Lead, coach and develop team members through training, performance management and ongoing professional development

Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Proven experience in fund accounting, financial reporting or alternative investment structures.
- Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to apply accounting standards pragmatically and effectively.
- Experience reviewing financial statements, management accounts and audit deliverables within a regulated environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility and maintain strong client relationships.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring or developing accounting professionals.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
