Job DescriptionPOSITION OVERVIEW
The Fund Accounting Controller works with other Investment Management team members to lead the financial reporting and administrative operations of multiple real estate funds. In conjunction with the Senior Vice President, the Fund Accounting Controller is responsible for ensuring the highest standards for fund accounting, asset management, capital account maintenance, and financial statement preparation for Stream's Investment Management business unit.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support SVP in executing accounting initiatives across Investment Management
- Involvement in every fund accounting aspect of Investment Management’s efforts – new investments, loan origination development, asset management, cash management, dispositions, reporting and partner relations
- Review of journal entries, wire transfers, capital contribution and distribution calculations, quarterly reporting financial packages prepared by the Fund Accountants
- Review valuation calculations prepared by Asset Management.
- Manage and track portfolio level financing and compliance reporting.
- Facilitate the audit and tax preparation process.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Current CPA license
- 2-3 years of VC/PE fund experience AND 2-3 years of public accounting experience preferred OR 5 years of VC/PE fund experience
- Analytical and accounting skills commensurate with experience level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate and interact with internal and external partners
- Intermediate or Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience in Yardi or Yardi Investment Accounting module preferred
- Strong organizational skills and work ethic
- Desire to work on a team
