Summary:
Fund tax registrations, returns and queries. Adhoc responsibility limited to areas of accounting records and financial records
Job specification
- Income tax registration, deregistration, and name changes
- Managing emails, calls, and appointments with SARS Agents
- Registration of funds on SARS e-filing platform, and ensure
- activation of all taxes (DWT/IWT)
- Maintaining changes on e-filing system
- Keeping up to date on SARS correspondence
- Attend to any E-filing queries
- Preparation of SARS Power of Attorney documents
- Verification documents and activations to SARS when
- requested by SARS.
- All queries relating to SARS registration process
- Completion of SARS returns relating to funds
- Maintaining fund register
- Preparation and submission of Income Tax Returns
- Responsible for filing all supporting documentation
- Responding to and working through tax queries from SARS
- Uploading of supporting documentation required during
- verification and/or audit processes
- Submission of Income Tax returns for all Funds and verifying
- correctness of assessments issued by SARS
- Managing of tracking spreadsheets, tracking of queries, audits,
- objections etc
- System maintenance
- Any other administrative processes associated to the above
- Accounting records and reconciliations:
- Assists in other finance related fund administration functions
- where required
Audit and year-end:
- Assists with preparation of audit information where required
- Special projects
- Assists in this area where required
Adhoc
- Assist with bookkeeping functions as and when required
- Assists in other areas of finance team where required
Strategic and other areas:
- Participates in meetings
- Basic communication required
- Decision-making is limited to timing, speed, and quality of
- subject matter
- Basic knowledge on subject matter is required
- Carries out principles from policies and strategy

- Relevant diploma (Finance/Tax related)
Experience Required:
- Experience in provisional tax administration and SARS E-filing
- Able to handle tax related issues in a timely manner
- Process driven and pay close attention to detail
- Previous experience dealing directly with SARS and
- addressing queries
Critical Competencies Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Income Tax Act and Tax Administration
- SARS e-filing knowledge
- An understanding of the accounting functions associated with
- tax administration
