About the role
As a Functional Tester within the Products Payroll & Reward BE Tribe, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of software solutions developed for the Belgian payroll market. Our applications support both internal users and external clients in payroll processing. This role is an excellent opportunity for payroll & HR professionals who are interested in combining their business expertise with technology. Your understanding of payroll processes and legislation will help ensure our software solutions meet both business and regulatory requirements. Using your understanding of payroll processes, you will review requirements, test new functionalities, and verify that the software behaves as expected and complies with business rules and legislation. You will work closely with functional analysts and developers to identify issues, improve solutions, and deliver high-quality payroll applications. Following your onboarding period, you may have the opportunity to support other teams within the SME Payroll domain based on business priorities and organizational needs. This will allow you to broaden your knowledge across multiple applications and contribute to the end-to-end payroll process.
Responsibilities
• Work closely with functional analysts, developers and payroll experts to understand requirements and deliver high-quality payroll software solutions.
• Actively participate in Agile team ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and team discussions.
• Review business requirements and payroll processes to understand the expected behaviour and outcomes of new functionalities.
• Test new functionalities and software changes before they are released to customers and colleagues.
• Verify that payroll calculations, business rules, and legal requirements are correctly reflected in the application.
• Analyse test results and investigate unexpected outcomes or inconsistencies.
• Perform functional testing in P250 and SME applications, ensuring results meet business expectations and acceptance criteria.
• Execute regression testing to ensure existing functionalities continue to work correctly after new developments are introduced.
• Collaborate with other teams to validate end-to-end payroll processes across different applications.
• Identify, document, and follow up on issues until they are resolved.
• Maintain clear and up-to-date testing documentation and share knowledge within the team.
• Contribute to the overall quality of our payroll applications and support continuous improvements in testing practices and ways of working.
Personal Competencies
• You have by preference at least 3-5 years of experience in testing.
• You have a strong analytical mindset, pay attention to detail, and enjoy investigating issues to understand their root cause.
• You enjoy reviewing processes and verifying whether outcomes align with expectations and business requirements.
• You are curious about software applications and eager to learn how payroll processes are translated, tested, and improved within digital solutions.
• You are eager to learn and motivated to develop new skills in payroll applications, testing methodologies, and supporting tools.
• You have a positive, hands-on attitude and the perseverance to work through complex issues until a solution is found.
• You enjoy collaborating with colleagues from different backgrounds and working together to find practical solutions.
• Experience in payroll, HR administration, payroll consulting, or a related field is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of LOS21 and/or Payroll is an advantage.
• You are willing to support colleagues and help investigate application-related issues when needed. • You are comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
• You communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
• You can go to the office in Antwerp every Tuesday.
• Experience with SQL, AQT, Ranorex, Selenium, or other testing tools is a plus, but not a requirement. We will support you in developing these skills on the job.
