What you can expect
- Lead development and maintenance of the Functional Safety Plan, tailoring lifecycle activities, milestones, and confirmation measures to project scope
- Conduct Hazard Analysis & Risk Assessment, ASIL determination, safety goals definition, and traceability through system, hardware, and software
- Define Safety Concepts; architect safety mechanisms and allocate safety requirements across system elements and suppliers
- Play an active role in the communication with customers and/or stakeholders, to clarify all the Safety aspects of the implementation of safety concept
- Monitor the implementation and verification of safety requirements regarding the Safety measures and constraints of the system elements and interfaces
- Manage the customer and internal safety relevant changes, trigger the impacted domains, and agree the safety solutions
- Manage supplier and partner interfaces (e.g. DIA, safety requirements)
- Create and defend Safety Case, safety argumentation, assumptions and residual risk rationale
- Provide support to create safety analysis (e.g., FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA) and manage the implementation of their output, with respect to the initial defined safety concept
- Support the release of production documents with active contribution regarding the specific safety measures to be followed during production phase
- Collaborate cross functionally with SYS, HW, SW, Test, CySec, Manufacturing, and Quality to assure safety
- Support the assessment / confirmation review activities for Safety on projects, according to ISO26262 and internal process
- Lead Safety activities in RFQs/RFIs in assigned area of expertise
- Play an active role in the process of increasing the Safety culture inside the project with impact on different disciplines
- Lead cross-functional root-cause analyses for post-SOP safety anomalies
- Plan and support confirmation measures: independent reviews, assessments, functional safety audits
- Provides technical training on safety topics at project or organization level
- Performs and distributes lessons learned and best practices for assigned area of activity
- Report metrics/KPIs and risks to stakeholders, escalate blockers and safety issues, provide recommendations for safety
What you'll bring
- University degree in Computer Science, Control engineering, Electronics Mathematics or other relevant. Master’s degree would be an advantage
- 5+ years experience in the field of functional safety engineering in the design and development of electrical/electronic automotive products
- 5+ years experience in leading an automotive engineering team in a globally distributed work environment, preferably in functional safety
- Solid background in systems engineering, electrical hardware engineering, or software engineering in the Automotive industry
- Extensive knowledge of automotive functional safety and risk management.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21448, with proven experience in the implementation of the standards in automotive programs
- Familiarity with automotive product development processes and systems
- In-depth knowledge in the areas of safety analysis for System, Hardware, and Software including FMEA, Common Cause Analysis, Dependent Failure Analysis, FTA, FMEDA, HARA
- Proficiency with requirements tooling (e.g., DOORS/CodeBeamer, PTC, JIRA), and architecture modeling (e.g. Enterprise Architect, SysML)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of V&V strategies and methods applicable to safety products
- Project management knowledge
- Fluent in English (written and verbal)
