As a Functional Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the development and integration of functional safety processes and requirements in alignment with ISO 26262 and ISO/PAS 21448 (SOTIF) standards. You will support the safety lifecycle of complex automotive software components spanning the full ADAS/AD software stack, including embedded software for cameras, perception modules, ISP pipelines, localization, prediction, and path planning.
Education & Experience:
- BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, ideally in automotive or ADAS/AD domains.
- Experience working with safety-compliant embedded software on SoCs or MCUs.
- Proven experience applying ISO 26262 (ASIL B to D) safety lifecycle activities.
- Familiarity with SOTIF (ISO/PAS 21448) and its application to AI/perception.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ADAS/AD software stack components: perception, planning, localization, etc.
- Understanding of embedded software and real-time systems (RTOS, AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive, or POSIX).
- Familiar with tools like Medini Analyze, ANSYS, or similar for safety analysis.
- Experience with safety mechanisms (watchdogs, ECC, CRC, diagnostic monitoring, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP) or Engineer (CFSE).
- Experience with AI/ML-based perception safety validation.
- Familiarity with SPICE, ISO 21434 (cybersecurity), and AUTOSAR safety extensions.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-tech startup environment.
