The SAP Sourcing Functional Consultant will be responsible for supporting the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Sourcing solutions for our internal change requests and projects. This role will involve analyzing business requirements, identifying best practices, and translating these needs into efficient SAP solutions that optimize procurement and sourcing processes. The consultant will work closely with stakeholders to ensure an assertive design analysis, fit-to-standard as much as possible, and a smooth system integration. Additionally, the role will include troubleshooting issues in the production SAP S/4HANA environment, resolving IDOC-related issues with external systems, and addressing cross-functional challenges within other SAP modules, particularly those integrating with Material Management. Our operating environment is SAP S4 Hana Fashion and Vertical Business Solution, which is connected to SAP CAR, IBP and ECC AFS.

The ERP and Business Applications department is comprised of a team of technical professionals and subject matter experts who know and understand the tools that we use to support the business. We strategically define business cases, prioritize projects, and deliver ERP and Commercial projects, ensuring that dependencies are mapped out and sequenced to deliver the overall technology roadmap. Together, we host, manage, and improve a range of technical tools for all aspects of design, business, finance, logistics, global sales, and many other heroes within the organization.
If you were the SAP Sourcing Functional Consultant, now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Engaging with business stakeholders to understand the sourcing and procurement requirements and translate them into functional specifications
- Conducting workshops, gathering business requirements, and mapping them to SAP Sourcing functionality
- Configuring SAP Sourcing and related modules into the SAP Sourcing in Retail/Fashion industry to meet client business needs
- Designing and developing sourcing processes such as purchasing requisition mass upload, pricing conditions, purchase info records, source of supplier, purchase order types, purchase order confirmation, purchase stock segments, end-to-end scenarios such as finished goods, intercompany, and subcontracting
- Preparing functional specifications for system enhancements, integrations, and reports
- Ensuring that the designed solution aligns with best SAP practices and stakeholders’ requirements
- Leading testing efforts including functional, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Preparing test cases, test scripts, and ensure all defects are resolved before go-live
- Supporting the business users through the implementation and post-implementation phases, ensuring smooth adoption of the solution
- Providing information for the training team on SAP Sourcing functionality, ensuring a smooth transition for users
- Providing ongoing post-implementation support to resolve issues and optimize processes
- Working with the technical team to ensure smooth integration between SAP Sourcing and other SAP modules, as well as third-party applications
- Assisting in the data integration issues via IDOC monitoring through various systems integrated with SAP
- Identifying opportunities for system and process improvements within the SAP Sourcing environment
- Maintaining updated knowledge on SAP best-practices, roadmap and technologies to provide informed architectural and design decisions
- Staying current with new SAP Sourcing features and updates and best practices
- Provide regular updates on project progress and issues to the project manager
- Maintaining ongoing collaboration with business stakeholders and peers to gather and interpret user/system requirements, pain points and process issues. Develop and maintain prioritization of change requests
- Participating occasionally in system maintenance activities and on call outside of regular working hours and peak retail times

- Working with internal and external partners to deliver new Sourcing solutions for business
- Solving complex problems with peers in SAP to meet continuing developing business needs
- Looking for ways to automate and reduce nonvalue added tasks
- Partnering with our Logistics, Omnichannel and Finance teams to produce results
Are you our next SAP Sourcing Functional Consultant?
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- You have 5+ years of combined experience in SAP S/4HANA Sourcing, preferably within the Retail or Fashion industry
- You have knowledge of SAP Ariba, SAP Fiori, and SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP), this is considered a strong asset
- You have proven experience implementing end-to-end (E2E) business scenarios in SAP Sourcing, ideally within the retail or fashion industry. (e.g. , finished goods procurement, intercompany transactions, subcontracting, supply planning, vendor management, pricing strategies, source determination, and purchase order management)
- You are proficient in troubleshooting issues related to sourcing business processes in SAP
- You have a strong understanding of integration points between SAP Sourcing and other SAP modules (e.g., SAP SD, SAP FI)
- You have the ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and manage multiple priorities
- You have experience and familiarization working with Solution manager, Jira, and SAP methodology
- You are an excellent individual contributor while also able to work effectively with a team
- You are adaptable and forward thinking
- You are able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- You are able to participate in operational activities outside of normal working hours as needed
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
