ECS is seeking a Functional Analyst to work in our Stafford, VA office.  Please Note: This position is contingent upon additional funding.


Are you ready to play a crucial role in supporting cutting-edge technology for federal law enforcement and scientific organizations?  ECS is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Functional Analyst to help define and steer solutions and process improvements for our customers and teams.


The scope of this program is to enhance enterprise IT services and solutions for our FBI customer to provide best-in-class end-user support.  We drive improvements in the operations, management, maintenance and integration of services across multiple networks, systems, and applications to enable and enhance mission operations for law enforcement capabilities.  The program may also expand to include cloud services and application development in the future.

The ideal candidate will be a fast learner, able to effectively engage resources and work across teams to decompose large, complex problems into workable solutions. An aptitude for learning and strategic planning, and the ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, are a must. 


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Interacting with stakeholders including the federal government unit representatives, governance, and ECS service desk, operations, and engineering teams to understand the needs of end users and the enterprise
  • Develop presentation materials for executive-level briefings to explain program, status, issues, requirements, justification and impact of proposed resourcing
  • Collaborate with other teams to understand how production system changes may affect development and testing efforts
  • Decomposing functional requirements into appropriate Kanban cards or scrum units (e.g., Epics, Features, User Stories)
  • Develop acceptance test criteria (ATC) as appropriate to fully validate delivered functionality
  • Coordinate monthly/sprint reporting and communication
  • Support software testing, including executing test scripts as needed
  • Support continuous innovation by implementing the best practices to improve technology, tools, and processes to increase team efficiency and technical execution
  • Track, communicate, and report on issues and risks using reporting guidelines
  • Train end users on new solutions and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • US citizenship with Top Secret clearance
  • A minimum of five years’ experience analyzing and documenting complex systems and applications
  • Experience collaborating with customer representatives, program management, and quality managers to define and document requirements in small increments
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking ability, problem solving skills, and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working in a fast-paced, dynamic, matrixed work environment
  • Ability to elicit and shape work requirements, as well as decompose complex challenges into actionable plans based on an understanding of higher-level objectives
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, including customer and employee engagement and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain English
