Droppie is a unique recycling hub where you can drop off all your used items in a single visit. It is a place where the items you hand in gain new value for you, your neighborhood, and the future. You can bring a wide range of recyclable items, from old clothes and broken electronics to plastic packaging, used cooking oil, and plastic deposit bottles and cans. Our drop-off points make it easy to drop off everything at once. Every drop counts. As soon as you hand something in, the Droppie app shows you exactly what you’ve contributed and what you get in return. You can keep the reward for yourself, share it with a charity, or pool it with your neighbors to save up for something great. Your Role

Droppie and its app are only three years old and have grown rapidly. In addition, there are some ambitious plans for further expansion. Your challenge will be to both improve existing features and create new features while also making sure that the software is scalable for a significant increase in users. You’ll work in a small team in close collaboration with the tech lead, software developer and data scientist. Together, we will ensure Droppie continues to grow and make an even greater social impact on the world!

What will you be doing?

• You will independently design, build, test, and deploy features, and you know when to ask for help during that process.

• You will work across various codebases, typically building features from start to finish.

• You will contribute to architectural decisions, review colleagues' code, and safeguard the quality of the codebase.

• Together with colleagues from other Droppie departments, you will determine what needs to be built and why.

Your profile

You have 3 years experience as a software developer, including experience with:

• TypeScript or Javascript

• React or React Native, ideally both

• MongoDB; experience with PostgreSQL is a plus

• Node.js/Express

In addition:

• You are fluent in English, as English is the team's working language

• You know how to utilize AI tools like claude code in combination with your own knowledge and skills

• You are available for at least 32 hours a week, including one day in the office

• You feel at home in an inclusive organization where everyone is welcome, and you work with patience and understanding alongside colleagues who sometimes need a little extra support

Nice to have:

• You have released apps to App Store or Google Play before

• You’ve worked with Firebase and/or Google Cloud

• Experience with payment integrations, webhooks or external API’s

• Experience with automated testing using Jest
