We provide a significant contribution to the major Space programs of the European Space Agency. Our core business is to work on the ground to build bridges into space, contributing to the success of ambitious missions.

We are looking for 2 highly motivated Full-Stack Interns to join our Service Centre of Excellence (SCoE) at our office in Katwijk aan Zee. The SCoE drives innovation by introducing new technologies and best practices, delivers centralised expertise and service support, and identifies strategic market opportunities.

You are going to gain experience in implementing end-to-end features (DB schema, REST APIs in Spring Boot, and UI with React + Mantine), building CRUD tables with filtering/sorting, validated forms, and simple dashboards, and adding CSV import flows (server-side validation and UI feedback). Also, you will develop your skills in writing automated basic tests (unit/integration), keeping code clean, writing small PRs, writing meaningful commit messages, and, under mentorship, owning small slices of the product from design to done.

What is expected from you:

Must-have

• Java fundamentals and a strong willingness to learn Kotlin.
• Basics of Spring Boot (controllers, services), REST, JSON.
• Basics of React + modern JS/TS; comfortable with a component library (Mantine or similar).
• SQL fundamentals; able to model simple data and write basic queries.
• Git/GitLab basics; can branch, commit, open MRs, and resolve conflicts.
• English for reading docs; clear, concise written communication.

Nice-to-have

• Any Kotlin experience.
• Spring Security basics, JWT/cookie auth.
• Testing (JUnit/Mockk)

What we offer and how does it work: 

We expect the internship to start in September, and last for 6 months. This could be the first big step in your career, so get your CV ready and send your application.

The selection process will comprise two interviews, with a simple assignment to be completed asynchronously between them. We start with a Teams meeting to get to know you better and understand your attitude. If it’s a match, you’ll receive a short assignment where you can show us how you think and work. Finally, we invite you for a conversation with our SCoE team to dive deeper into the role and your motivation.

For this internship we provide a monthly compensation between 300 to 600 euros.
