Pratt and Whitney (PW) has an opening for a Principal Specialist, Full stack role. We are looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer with strong expertise in FastAPI (Python) on the backend and React on the frontend, who has a solid understanding of Azure Active Directory (AAD) for secure Single Sign-On (SSO) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC). You will be responsible for designing and building a secure, scalable full-stack application hosted on Azure App Services, integrating with Azure SQL Database, and visualizing analytical data through interactive dashboards. This role requires ownership of both frontend and backend components with a strong emphasis on performance, scalability and clean architecture.
What You will do:
- Design and develop full-stack web applications using React (frontend) and FastAPI (backend).
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using MSAL.js in React and Azure AD in FastAPI.
- Integrate user input forms and persist data into Microsoft SQL Server via SQLAlchemy.
- Build and integrate dynamic visualizations using Chart.js for forecasted data in the frontend.
- Ensure CI/CD deployment to Azure App Services and maintain integration with Azure-native tools for monitoring, logging, and performance tuning.
- Implement RBAC and claims-based access using Azure AD and handle secure data access per user roles.
- Ensure best practices in code quality, security, and performance across the stack.
- Conduct code reviews, mentor junior developers, and maintain coding standards.
- Participate in agile development cycles and cross-functional planning.
Qualification you must have :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Science, Technology, Software Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) a related field, or equivalent practical experience with minimum of 7 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations..
Backend
- Expert in Python with 5+ years of experience using FastAPI.
- Experience working with SQLAlchemy, Pydantic, and REST API design principles.
- Experience designing and securing RESTful APIs.
- Experience in securing APIs using Azure Active Directory (OAuth2 / OpenID Connect).
- ·Strong knowledge of code architecture, design patterns, and scalability.
Frontend
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with React.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Good understanding of component architecture, hooks, and state management (Redux/Context API).
- Experience working with MUI framework , ANT UI or any other framework
- Comfortable working with data visualization tools (Chart.js, Recharts, etc.).
- Strong skills in front-end technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals.
- Exposure to UI/UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Hands-on knowledge of MSAL.js for Azure AD authentication.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Good To have
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Exposure to Docker and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of Azure B2C or multi-tenant Azure AD setups.
- Prior experience in mentoring or leading a small dev team.
- Experience using version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools.
Cloud & DevOps:
- Hands-on experience with Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Monitor / App Insights.
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with Azure Key Vault, Managed Identities, and RBAC in cloud environments.
