POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Full Stack Developer at Chariot Energy, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both the front-end and back-end components of our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to create exceptional user experiences and deliver robust solutions.


This position is located in Houston, TX, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance of the Houston office location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Front-End Development:
  • Collaborate with our marketing, sales, and operations teams to implement mobile-first, user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces.
  • Develop responsive and interactive front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically React.
  • Ensure seamless integration of APIs with front-end components to provide real-time data updates.
  • Optimize web applications for performance, including loading times and responsiveness across different devices and browsers.
  • Implement best practices for SEO, accessibility, and web standards compliance to enhance user experience and search engine ranking.

  • Back-End Development:
  • Design and implement scalable and efficient server-side logic.
  • Develop RESTful APIs to facilitate smooth communication between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Work with Microsoft SQL Server and other cloud databases to design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data interactions.
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure application data and user access.
  • Perform code reviews and optimize back-end code for performance, security, and maintainability.

  • Cloud Integration:
  • Leverage Azure cloud platforms to deploy and manage applications in a scalable and cost-effective manner.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for deployment, testing, and monitoring of cloud-based applications.
  • Monitor application performance and implement necessary optimizations for cloud-based deployment.
  • Utilize Azure DevOps for version control, automated testing, and continuous integration workflows.
  • Ensure proper logging, monitoring, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Application Insights to maintain high availability and reliability of cloud services.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer, including 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript, along with strong experience in React.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, including but not limited to Azure VMs, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Virtual Networks.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C#, Python, React, SQL.
  • Extensive experience of developing in Azure Serverless environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database design.
  • Experience with IaC tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and Azure Active Directory (AAD) for identity and access management.
  • Proficiency in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.
  • Ability to multitask and work under multiple deadlines.
  • Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without current or future sponsorship.

  • PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or similar.
  • Working experience in deregulated electricity markets.
