Full Stack Developer (React & Node.js)

About you

You are a Full Stack Developer who enjoys building scalable, reliable web and mobile applications and working across the entire software development lifecycle. You bring a strong engineering mindset, combining frontend creativity with backend problem-solving to deliver seamless digital experiences.

You are comfortable navigating different layers of an application, from modern user interfaces and mobile experiences to backend services, APIs, and databases. You value clean architecture, maintainable code, and thoughtful technical decisions, and you enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams while taking ownership of the solutions you build.

You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Software Development, preferably as a Full Stack Developer or Software Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript across frontend and backend development.
• Experience building modern web applications using React and/or Next.js.
• Experience developing and maintaining mobile applications using React Native.
• Backend development experience using Node.js and frameworks such as NestJS or Express.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience building cloud-native applications using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience writing automated unit and integration tests.
• Familiarity with Git, Docker, and CI/CD practices.
• Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, including JWT and OAuth 2.0.
• Knowledge of secure coding practices and OWASP principles.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively within Agile teams and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with serverless architectures and services such as AWS Lambda, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
• Experience working with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Pub/Sub.
• Knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines and using code quality tools such as SonarQube.
• Familiarity with application observability, including logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Experience with modern frontend libraries and tools such as TanStack Query, Zustand, or similar.
• Experience contributing to system design, scalable architectures, and technical decisions.
• Experience defining engineering standards, mentoring developers, and providing technical guidance.
• Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants and their application in software development.

You will be accountable for the following responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web and mobile applications using React, Next.js, React Native, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Build backend services, business logic, and RESTful APIs using Node.js and frameworks such as NestJS or Express.
• Develop reusable, responsive frontend components and maintain high-quality mobile experiences.
• Integrate third-party services and connect frontend applications with backend systems.
• Design and maintain relational data models, queries, and database integrations.
• Implement secure authentication, authorization, and data-handling practices.
• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, investigate root causes, and optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to clean, maintainable engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Engineers, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into end-to-end solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and coordinate development activities with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to technical decisions, architecture improvements, and development standards according to your level of experience.
