Inquisitive is a fast-growing education technology company with a vision of universal access to high
quality learning. In the 6 years since launch, Inquisitive has grown to be used by 50,000 teachers in 5,000
primary schools, and is now taking off in the United States. Our mission is deeply inspiring: we’re working to save teachers 300 hours a year and solve fundamental problems for education globally. You’ll be pivotal in evolving the product and helping build something truly impactful. Our team loves Javascript and our tech stack is modern and fantastic to work with. We use React, Apollo
Client, Styled Components, AWS, Cypress, Serverless, GraphQL, TypeScript, Terraform, NodeJS,
Snowflake and CircleCI to name a few.
This role is a Full Stack development position with a primary focus on backend development tasks. Over
time you will have the opportunity to work across both the front end and back end to build and maintain
scalable, high-performance applications. You will collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to
develop seamless user experiences while ensuring robust backend functionality.
Who are we looking for?

- Excellent analytical and complex problem-solving skills
- Highly motivated with a positive and collaborative attitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Passion for learning and growth
- 5+ years of software development experience, ideally with 2+ years in Node.js and React
- Experience working with databases, crafting APIs and CI/CD pipelines
- 2+ years AWS experience
- Experience or strong interest in: React, TypeScript, serverless technologies, GraphQL, Postgres DB; AI tooling such as ChatGPT
- We welcome applicants with experience in other languages who can demonstrate the ability to up-skill quickly in JavaScript and Node.js
