Full-stack Developer Intern

Working as a Full-stack Developer intern at BrokerChooser, you can add value and have an impact from day one. There is always a problem to solve, a piece of content to write, a chunk of code to clean up or a calculation to make.

• We're remote first, but we provide office space, too. You can work primarily from home but you are required to come to the office at least once a week if you live in Budapest. Alternatively, you may work from the office full-time. The choice is yours.

 ✨ Ideal candidate

• Is currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in engineering/economics/business
• Is available to work at least 20 hours a week
• Is flexible, a quick learner, a problem solver, precise, proactive and passionate

 🔬 Experience

• Ongoing studies in software development
• General knowledge of coding and algorithms
• Basic knowledge of PHP and SQL
• English: working proficiency; no exam is needed, but interviews and tests might be conducted in English
• Nice to have: Laravel knowledge

 ✔️ Tasks

• Designing and maintaining databases: tailor databases to current needs. Work with migrations to extend and modify database schemas as required.
• Back-end development: Learn about back-end software architectures and technologies, and gain a solid understanding about object-oriented programming in general. Assist the team by developing new features and refactoring code. Gain knowledge about writing robust, clean and future-proof code.
• Front-end development: Work together with front-end developers and the Design/UX team to implement various mockups. Learn about front-end technologies, the basics of search engine optimization, and how it comes into play when developing web applications.
