 Your Impact

As a Senior Software Engineer I on the Frontend Squad, you will collaborate with other engineers to shape and drive technical solutions and architecture for scalable, high-performance frontend applications. You will work closely with engineers in your team and across the organization to review designs and steer them toward more reliable and sustainable outcomes, making you a force multiplier. You are a great collaborator and coach, and will help to grow engineers in your team. You foster a friendly, open, introspective culture that encourages everyone to speak their mind and avoid red tape, unnecessary rituals, bureaucracy, and politics. What You’ll Do
  • Build and own the technical roadmap for mission-critical web and desktop applications.
  • Develop robust, reusable, and maintainable code using React, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
  • Contribute to cross-platform solutions, including Electron-based desktop applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and design solutions for the team’s biggest technical challenges.
  • Lead engineering architecture and design reviews.
  • Set a high technical bar for the team through code reviews and design feedback.
  • Mentor and grow engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive engineering culture.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering to create integrated solutions that delight customers.
  • Improve engineering processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and long-term architectural thinking.
  • Build applications that adhere to high standards of availability and latency in this mission-critical space.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Proven experience developing large-scale, consumer-facing web applications.
  • Expertise in TypeScript and React.
  • Experience with Electron for cross-platform desktop applications.
  • Experience working with cloud-based APIs and infrastructure.
  • Strong experience with build and bundling tools like Webpack, Vite, or Rollup.
  • Proficiency in unit, integration, and end-to-end testing approaches.
  • Deep familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows (GitHub/GitLab).
  • Experience optimizing web application performance (code splitting, lazy loading, reducing Time to Interactive).

The Pay: 

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 141,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 225,600 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors. This role is based out of our Seattle, Boston, Atlanta or Scottsdale office and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.
