Frontend Lead Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Frontend Lead Developer to lead the technical direction and delivery of the front-end experience for a large-scale web portal.

In this role, you will oversee the front-end build, ensuring UI screens and reusable components are aligned with the established design system and built to a high standard of quality, performance, accessibility, and scalability.

You will combine hands-on technical expertise with architectural leadership, defining scalable front-end solutions, establishing development standards, driving reusable component strategies and microfrontend adoption, and mentoring developers across the team.

The ideal candidate is a strong technical leader with deep experience in modern React and TypeScript ecosystems, front-end architecture, component-based development, and large-scale web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the front-end solution design and technical implementation for large-scale web applications.
  
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable and maintainable UI architecture.
  
• Oversee the front-end build of the portal, ensuring UI screens and reusable components align with the design system.
  
• Define component strategies, reusable UI patterns, and front-end architectural standards.
  
• Drive the adoption of microfrontend architecture and establish alignment across development teams.
  
• Establish front-end standards, governance, coding practices, and architectural best practices.
  
• Mentor front-end developers and provide technical guidance through code reviews, design reviews, and architectural discussions.
  
• Ensure applications meet accessibility, usability, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility standards.
  
• Collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers, Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and effective design implementation.
  
• Integrate front-end applications with REST APIs and authentication workflows.
  
• Drive performance optimization across front-end applications, including lazy loading, code splitting, caching, and bundle optimization.
  
• Apply secure front-end development practices throughout the application lifecycle.
  
• Support production readiness, release planning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
  
• Contribute to technical decision-making and continuously improve front-end architecture, tooling, and development processes.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
  
• Deep understanding of component-based architecture and reusable UI library design.
  
• Experience with microfrontend architecture, including Webpack Module Federation.
  
• Strong experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs.
  
• Experience implementing authentication workflows and secure front-end applications.
  
• Strong knowledge of state management, particularly Redux.
  
• Solid understanding of front-end application architecture and established design patterns.
  
• Experience with front-end performance optimization, including:

• Bundle optimization
  
• Strong understanding of responsive web design and cross-browser compatibility.
  
• Strong knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3.

• Strong experience with Git and branching/version control practices.
  
• Knowledge of accessibility standards, including WCAG and ARIA.
  
• Experience with modern build tooling and package management, including Webpack, Vite, npm, Yarn, or pnpm.
