About Discom by HBK:
Discom is a technological market leader in acoustic quality analysis for industrial production. Our systems are in use worldwide, ensuring the quality of complex drive and motion systems every single day – from electric drives to transmissions and actuators, all the way to advanced high‑tech applications.
As part of HBK, our team of around 40 employees in Göttingen develops innovative NVH solutions for end‑of‑line testing. We work closely with leading automotive manufacturers and suppliers and are an integral part of their production processes by detecting quality deviations at an early stage and enabling robust, reliable workflows.
At the same time, we are expanding into new future markets such as eVTOL and robotics – including humanoid robots – where high‑precision acoustic and vibration analysis is essential for safety, performance, and reliability.
To support our continued growth in these future markets, we are looking for a Frontend Application Engineer to join our R&D team. The location of work will be Shanghai.
What You’ll Do
- Prototyping of client applications; feature development for existing frontend applications
- On-site deployment to ensure smooth integration into industrial processes and data pipelines
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer needs and user experience are at the heart of feature development
- Translate customer requirements (user stories) into actionable tasks and issues
- Monitor trends and requirements in the Chinese tech market and turn insights into strategic recommendations
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in computer science, acoustics or a related technical field
- Strong background in frontend/client app development (Python, React, etc.) and API integration (e.g. Grafana)
- Skilled in data analysis and processing
- Strong domain interest (acoustic and manufacturing)
- Experience with modern software architecture and tech stacks, including cloud technologies
- Excellent communication skills and customer focus
- Fluency in Chinese and English

- DevOps workflows (Git/GitHub)
- Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
