About the role:
The ideal candidate would bring solid experience in modern front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS design tokens, and Angular framework, alongside tools like Jest, Tailwind, and Storybook. Strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and familiarity with Agile methodologies are essential. Experience with responsive design is expected. Additional advantages include exposure to Playwright, Azure, CI/CD pipelines, financial services, and tools such as Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
In this role you would be working closely with Apex Group ‘s New Zealand team.
What You’ll Do
Develop, maintain, and enhance Apex New Zealand’s front‑end software systems
Write clean, efficient code to solve complex business problems
Contribute to refinement sessions and help shape optimal technical solutions
Ensure data integrity, security, and performance across applications
Promote and adhere to best‑practice software development standards
Deliver quality outcomes by contributing to testing frameworks and continuously improving the codebase
Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other team members
Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What You’ll Bring
Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS (Design Tokens)
Proficiency with Angular and/or React (latest versions)
Experience working with Design Systems (e.g. Storybook or similar)
Hands‑on experience with Jest for unit testing
Experience using Tailwind or similar modern CSS frameworks
Solid problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose and fix technical issues
Familiarity with agile/iterative development methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
Experience building responsive, device‑based layouts (mobile, tablet, desktop)
Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship‑management skills
Nice to Have
Experience with Playwright, Gherkin, or Cucumber
Exposure to the Azure ecosystem
Experience with YAML CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Git
Prior experience in the investment or financial services industry
Knowledge of Docker, Terraform, and Kubernetes
