Front End Engineer

Location : Makati (Manila), Philippines

Description

This role develops on the systems within the Apex Investment Administration New Zealand business, which provides fund administration, wealth administration, unit pricing, and custody services to investment managers who collectively have over $140 billion of assets. The role provides input and implementation of software solutions through utilisation of their experience and the help from their squad members.

Job specification

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing Apex New Zealand’s software systems including:

    o Writing software to solve business problems.

    o Maintain software development standards.

    o Contributing to refinement sessions to promote best possible solutions.

    o Ensuring data integrity and security within the system

  • Promoting best practice software development standards

  • Delivering Quality – maintaining quality by contributing to the testing framework, always strive to leave the code base better.

  • Ability to perform code reviews.

  • Ability to Providing technical mentorship to the other team members.

  • Great relationship management and service delivery mindset

  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills

  • Sound knowledge of frameworks, software development methodologies, and approaches

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Skills Required:

  • JavaScript, Typescript, CSS Design Tokens

  • Proficient with Angular / React (Latest Versions)

  • Experience with Design Systems like Storybook or similar

  • Jest for unit testing

  • Tailwind

  • Problem solving skills to analyse and fix technical issues

  • Familiar with iterative development practices like Scrum or Kanban

  • Responsive / device-based layouts e.g. mobile, tablet, desktop

  • Good to have :

    · Playwright, Gherkin, Cucumber

    · Azure Ecosystem

    · YAML CI/CD Pipelines, Azure DevOps, Git

    · Investment or Financial industry experience

    · Docker, Terraform and Kubernetes
