Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for a Front-End Engineer II to build customer-facing experiences in the electric vehicle space.  You must be able to thrive and succeed in a fast-paced startup environment where your contributions have a direct impact on the company’s direction and success and should not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.  All candidates must be located in the greater metropolitan area of Seattle, WA.

What you get to do:

• You work closely with other Software Engineers and Front-End Engineers to design the system architecture.
• You collaborate with UX and Product teams to invent new experiences and build mobile / web apps that put customers first.
• You prototype new technology and evaluate technical feasibility of novel user interfaces.
• You code and test front-end components.
• You own end-to-end code quality, system tests, functional tests, and integration.

What you bring to the team:

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience in Front-End, Web, or Mobile software development using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• 4+ years of professional experience utilizing Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis).
• 4+ years of experience working in the Agile methodology for software development.
• Experience using JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.
• Experience with common Front-End technologies, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.
• Knowledge of web services technologies, such as REST, HTTP, WSDL, and XSD.
• Experience building scalable, distributed, Front-End experiences.

Seattle, WA Base Salary Range – $103,000 to $222,000

The stated pay scale reflects the range that Slate reasonably expects to pay for this position.  The actual pay rate and pay grade for this position will be dependent on a variety of factors, including an applicant’s years of experience, unique skills and abilities, education, alignment with similar internal candidates, marketplace factors, other requirements for the position, and employer business practices.  In addition to base pay, Slate also offers short-term and long-term incentive programs – 401k match, annual bonus and company equity, based on eligibility, along with a robust offering of benefit and wellness plans, HSA/FSA.
