Job Description:

Coordinate the front end team, maintenance, and operations of the front end to achieve safety, quality, productivity, spoilage, and housekeeping requirements. Maintain operating efficiency and can quality by overseeing training, staffing and completion of required maintenance and repair of all front end operations.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate training needs of front end personnel and set up the appropriate in-house and vendor training sessions.  Provide input in the performance evaluations of front end personnel.
  • Track maintenance program completion and schedule major PM work of all front end equipment.  Coordinate priorities and work assignments during changeovers, maintenance days and plant shutdowns.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for all front end equipment, including safe work practices, and ensure that they are being consistently followed.
  • Keep track of parts inventory and place orders as necessary to keep adequate stock on hand.   Ensure the availability of all necessary specialty tools for front end personnel.
  • Attend daily can construction and production meetings and provide technical expertise and suggestions for improvements in product quality as it relates to front end processes.
  • Work with suppliers and machinery manufacturer representatives to take advantage of new technology and ensure proper product support and technical assistance are provided.
  • Periodically meet with all front end personnel to solicit ideas or concerns and improve the flow of information within and outside the department.
  • Help with maintenance and repairs of front end machinery as required by production needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • Working knowledge and experience in a high-speed manufacturing operation and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Demonstrated commitment to being actively present on the manufacturing floor to support operations and mentor front-end team members.

  • Strong problem-solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach
  • Ability to work independently or with a team
  • Must be able to look at new solutions and “think outside the box”

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  
  • The Team Member may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

  • Generally, works in a plant environment but may be required to perform some job duties inside a typical office setting.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic.  
  • The Team Member may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures.
  • The noise level is frequently loud.
