What you’ll do:
Responsibilities/Duties:

Answering and triaging incoming calls.

Check in patients for their appointments (verify insurance information, referrals, demographics, etc).

Covering charts (last office note, diagnostic test results, lab results, etc).
-
Verify insurance eligibility.
-
Collect copayments and outstanding balances (batch and balance at end of day).
-
Verify that all test results and office notes are available for the patient’s appointment.
-
Bring patients to exam rooms if needed.
-
Cover co-workers’ vacation/sick/personal time.
-
Perform closing tasks (stay with a co-worker until the providers are finished) in the office once every other week.

Other duties as assigned by managers and leads.
Who you are:
Qualifications:
-
High School diploma or GED Required.
-
One-year medical office experience. Health care receptionist experience preferred.
-
Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory policies.
-
Knowledge of Insurance regulations, policies, and procedures.
-
Knowledge of medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology.
-
Knowledge of electronic medical systems is a plus, including Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech and the like.

Telephone protocol and professional etiquette; strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Extensive customer service experience.

Proven ability to multi-task.

Computer skills, being proficient with Windows based software.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly, professionally, and efficiently.
