What you’ll do:  

Responsibilities/Duties:  

  • Answering and triaging incoming calls. 

  • Check in patients for their appointments (verify insurance information, referrals, demographics, etc). 

  • Covering charts (last office note, diagnostic test results, lab results, etc). 

  • Verify insurance eligibility. 

  • Collect copayments and outstanding balances (batch and balance at end of day). 

  • Verify that all test results and office notes are available for the patient’s appointment. 

  • Bring patients to exam rooms if needed. 

  • Cover co-workers’ vacation/sick/personal time. 

  • Perform closing tasks (stay with a co-worker until the providers are finished) in the office once every other week. 

  • Other duties as assigned by managers and leads. 

Qualifications

Who you are: 

Qualifications:  

  • High School diploma or GED Required.  

  • One-year medical office experience.  Health care receptionist experience preferred. 

  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other regulatory policies. 

  • Knowledge of Insurance regulations, policies, and procedures. 

  • Knowledge of medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology. 

  • Knowledge of electronic medical systems is a plus, including Athena/Centricity, Medi-Tech and the like. 

  • Telephone protocol and professional etiquette; strong communication skills, verbal and written. 

  • Extensive customer service experience. 

  • Proven ability to multi-task. 

  • Computer skills, being proficient with Windows based software. 

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think quickly, professionally, and efficiently. 

  • Ability to represent our organization in a professional manner.

Skills Required
