POSITION SUMMARY:

The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for performing clerical support for the various departments; communicating information regarding NYFA activities and response to requests; and providing timely and accurate distribution of materials. The Front Desk Associate assists incoming guests and acts as the first point of contact for visitors, students, faculty, and staff, and answers any questions they may have. The individual in this role is also responsible for answering phones, transferring calls, answering questions over the phone, and taking messages. 


REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide quality service to all individuals including employees, students and guests
  • Serve as frontline resource to entire building
  • Answer phones for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries, and/or taking messages as well as e-mails
  • Assist staff with copying, filing, mail and data entry
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, other educational institutions and the public for the purpose of providing information and/or direction
  • Support assigned administrative personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their administrative functions
Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience working with others, preferably in customer service/office setting.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual
  • Ability to interpret and communicate the policies, procedures, and services of the school
  • Ability to maintain moderately complex records and ensure their confidentiality
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate courteously and tactfully with students, teachers, parents and the general public

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION: 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience with personal computers with emphasis of spreadsheets
  • Must be knowledgeable in MAC platforms and Microsoft Office Applications
  • Customer service experience needed
  • Flexible availability
  • Availability for nights and weekends a must
