Key Responsibilities
- Patient Interaction
- Greet patients/visitors in person and by phone.

- Enter and scan patient demographics and medical records into the EMR.
- Upload imaging files (X-ray, CT, MRI) into MergePac.
- Document all items in the electronic health record promptly.
- Scheduling & Coordination
- Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider time and room use.
- Communicate with Patient Accounting to resolve concerns in real time.
- Payments & Coding
- Process co-pays and uninsured visit payments.
- Review medical procedures and translate them into billing codes.
- Enter charges into the EMR system.
- Compliance & Training
- Attend required training and complete annual online education.
- Maintain strict confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: At least 2 years in a medical office; regular face‑to‑face physician interaction preferred.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong phone and communication skills.
- Familiarity with office equipment, practice management systems, EMRs, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of insurance rules, pre-authorizations, and clinic operations.
- Ability to locate information online and process requests quickly.
- Ability to interpret payer policies, multitask, and work professionally with patients and team members.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Fast-paced office setting with frequent changes.
- Regular sitting/standing, keyboard use, phone use.
- Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in a medical office.
