You live and breathe politics, thrive under deadline pressure, and can produce accurate, compelling stories at speed. You will cover the biggest stories out of Washington and beyond—from Capitol Hill to the campaign trail.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write fast, accurate, and engaging breaking and trending political stories for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com
Monitor national and political news sources for developing stories that resonate with our audience
Aggregate stories with sharp headlines and proper attribution, adding Fox Digital’s editorial value
Pitch and pursue original reporting and exclusive scoops through source-building and beat development
Collaborate closely with editors, reporters, and channel producers to strengthen political coverage
Select, obtain, and optimize visuals (photos and video) to enhance storytelling
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
2+ years’ experience covering news in a professional, fast-paced newsroom
Deep interest in U.S. politics, from the White House and Capitol Hill to SCOTUS and key state-level battles
Strong news judgment and a crisp, AP-style writing voice
Experience with SEO and headline optimization
Proven ability to deliver clean copy on deadline, under pressure
Willingness to work flexible hours, including holidays or breaking news shifts
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $30.00-35.00 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
