JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News is seeking a creative, organized, and motivated individual with strong editorial skills to fill a Freelance Field Producer position in Atlanta. The Freelance Field Producer will be responsible for working with reporters and our channel staff to set up interviews, obtain editorial, and craft elements to deliver compelling live shots and packages for coverage of any breaking or planned news event.

• Pitch story ideas

• Find elements, log events, and identify news developments for daily stories

• Work with reporters to set up interviews and obtain information to craft effective pitches, live shots and packages

• Work with editors to create compelling live reports and packages

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field of study, or equivalent experience

• 5 years experience as a field producer or like skill set

• Experience with producing news live shots and packages

• Strong logistical and editorial skills with knowledge of national and international stories

• Keen understanding of how to set up interviews and gather news

• Being a self-starter who can work independently, as well as a team player

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize daily especially in breaking news situations

• Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with NY HQ on assignments

• Familiarity with iNews a plus.

• Fluency in Spanish is a plus.

• Social media skills beneficial

• Must be flexible with your schedule and willing to work both weekdays, weekends, and extended hours as news warrants

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $30.00-37.00 per hour. We provide medical/dental/vision insurance and 401k after they meet eligibility criteria and any State required time-off, in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
