About us: Apply Digital’s Marketing Services division is a rapidly expanding full-service Martech team with team members in the US, Europe, LATAM, and Asia. As a personalization agency, we bridge the gap between creative, marketing, and strategy. We specialize in cross-channel content strategy, creation, and distribution (including email, paid social, push, and SMS), as well as MarTech implementations. We work with over 50 clients, ranging in size from companies like YETI, Upside, and Nutrafol to established marquee brands such as A+E Networks, Afterpay, and Stanley Black & Decker.

Role: To help us handle our increasing workload, we are looking to hire a Freelance Copywriter. The ideal candidate is someone who has brand or agency experience writing copy for advertising and marketing, product and transactional emails, scriptwriting, and has the proven ability to develop and emulate various brand voices. Candidates with experience in the Insurance and Saas industries will be given extra consideration.

Responsibilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of mobile-first, responsive design elements to be able to understand how your copy will be executed in an email
  • Assisting in the conception of new campaigns
  • Produce copy based on briefs submitted by clients
  • Critical review of strategic briefs before executions
  • Collaborate with strategy, creative, and dev teams to ensure emails not only look great but function great
  • Attend internal and client-facing meetings
  • Incorporate client feedback into revisions
  • Excellent copy editing skills to ensure it's free of errors and that it adheres to brand guidelines
  • Match brand voice so flawlessly, that the reader can’t tell if an agency or a brand’s creative director wrote it

Requirements:

  • Has at least 5+ years of direct experience writing email copy at a B2C brand or marketing agency and can provide work samples
  • Has worked in the Insurance or Saas industries
  • Able to adapt copy to fit a variety of brand voices
  • Produces relevant, conversion-driving copy with an eye for messaging hierarchy
  • Demonstrates an understanding of how the subject line and preheader work in tandem
  • Can interpret a brief and provide multiple options for creative execution
  • Thrives off of collaboration
  • Ability to create succinct messaging
  • Is excellent at research

The ideal candidate:

  • Familiarity with HTML used in emails.
  • Has experience quality checking and proofing email creative
  • Possesses a knack for humor and puns
  • Experience with social media, web copy, SMS, in-app, and/or push copy as well as scriptwriting
  • HIPAA Certified
